"Rhythm Masters" Book I all Instrument Transpositions:

“Rhythm Masters” Book I Preview

I started the “Rhythm Masters” project about 40 years ago. It began with materials I was writing for my band program to develop a comprehensive rhythm reading curriculum for concert bands and orchestras. There are three books in the series, broken down into 30 separate “rhythm vocabulary” units. The basic format begins with a “theory page” or counting analysis exercises with the “targeted rhythm vocabulary” listed for quick reference. Depending upon the unit, there might be “supplemental” pages that break each rhythm vocabulary list down into tiny units. The “bread and butter” of each Rhythm Masters” unit are the “Say” and “Play” Drills, followed by the highly versatile “Power Grid” application/assessment pages. Finally, most units have a “recap” of some kind, with “Song Reinforcers,” “Challenge Drills,” or other optional pages.  “C.R.E.S.C.” cumulative evaluation tools, a large number of “Audition Sight Reading” etudes, and a variety of “rhythm games” such as “Band Battleship,” “Bandego,” and “Quest for the Rhythm Master” (better known as “Mortal Kombat”) round out the materials offered throughout the three-book series.

I have downloaded the transposition of each different instrument’s pages onto this website.  These materials have been around for decades and were available on the internet long before anyone even thought about “smart” music “or other similar sites. This website is the third one I have created, and I decided to make an earlier edition of “book #1” available for you to look at. The content of all three books in the “Rhythm Master” series are available to music educators and their students (free of charge) at the original website, which is; www.rhythmmasters.org . There are “tons” of other music related materials for your entertainment and use, so if you get a chance, check it out.

Sincerely,

Rich Moon
